Hilary Duff's acting and singing career blasted off in 2003, with appearances in three movies and a Top 40 hit, "So Yesterday" (from her debut solo album, Metamorphosis). Duff became a star by way of the title role in the successful television series Lizzie McGuire (2001-03) on the Disney Channel. After filming The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), she left the TV show for a career on the big screen, and her busy year included the releases of Agent Cody Banks (with Frankie Muniz) and Cheaper By The Dozen (with Steve Martin), as well as the production of A Cinderella Story (with Chad Michael Murray as her Prince Charming) and Raise Your Voice, both in 2004. She released her second album, Hilary Duff in 2004, and in 2005 released Most Wanted, a collection of hits and remixes. Her other film credits include Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005) and Material Girls (2006, with Hilary's older sister, Haylie Duff).

Guess who got a Mercedes on her birthday!  September 23, 2007

Yup, a real Mercedes car, specifically a Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV. Price tag of which is more than $100,000! Hooray for the birthday girl! And the lucky celebrity who received the Mercedes from her boyfriend? None other than Hilary Duff! According to Hilary, her expectations were low when Mike Comrie, her hockey player boyfriend, called to say he has bought an early 20th birthday gift for her. She related that Mike said, "I hope you like them," and she thought, "Okay, it's shoes or something."

But when Hilary Duff opened her sister's garage, where Mike left her present, the singer was shocked to see what's inside. According to Hilary, "I opened the garage, and I was just like shocked, just standing there." In front of her was the Mercedes with a big red bow on top. Hilary has driven it many times since receiving it. She shares, "I've driven it tons. When I called him [to say thanks] I was like, 'You're crazy! It's perfect!'" Hilary, we've got only one thing to say: Mike Comrie is a keeper! You go gurl! =)

Hilary Duff invades Toronto!  September 17, 2007

Actress-singer Hilary Duff opened Canadian City Tv's annual "festival schmooze" on Queen Street West as part of its kickoff party for the Toronto International Film Festival’s opening weekend. Then the multi-talented artist performed at Toronto's Air Canada Centre as part of her Dignity album tour. Her fans were overwhelmed seeing Hilary strut her stuff in sexy ensembles and singing flawlessly. One fan even threw her a stuffed teddy bear while she was performing onstage.

In other Toronto Hilary sightings, the tween favorite was spotted walking her pet Chihuahua in Yorkville. That’s great Hilary! Don’t be like other young stars that just use their dogs as fashion accessories. Can we say Paris Hilton?? Or perhaps Britney Spears?? Lol! Anyway, Hilary was also seen partying in Toronto’s downtown club “This Is London” with her rumored lover, hockey player Mike Comrie. According to witnesses, the so-much in-love couple cuddled and danced together the whole night from their nook on the third-floor VIP section overlooking the dance floor.

Hilary Duff is definitely moving on after her erstwhile relationship with Joel Madden (who has spawned Nicole Richie’s first baby). And who’s the lucky guy who ensnared Lizzie McGuire’s heart? None other than Mike Comrie, a hockey player with a body built for the game. Tabloid estimates have put their relationship into the early stages but that didn’t keep the celebrity couple from showing off their young love. Hilary and Mike are often seen very affectionate and according to Hilary’s friend, “They’re always together and can’t keep their hands off each other.” Ahh, the thrill of new love! The lovebirds are also often seen in and around Hollywood, and most recently in New York City where Hilary and Mike were spotted walking hand in hand down Fifth Avenue. Later that night, the lovestruck duo dined in a nice NYC resto where the paparazzi caught up with them. Tsk, the perils of celebrity love! Lol!
